More often than not, when a new client calls to inquire about our services, they request a DJ but not a Master of Ceremony, or MC. So what’s the difference? To put it simply, the DJ is in charge of the music, while the MC is in charge of announcements and communication with the audience. At CMV Weddings, our DJs can also act as MCs when performing solo, but we do recommend our 2-person DJ/MC teams for many events.

A 2-person DJ/MC team allows the DJ to exclusively program the music
and operate all sound functions, leaving the MC free to host your event.

This promotes a much more interactive experience with the audience. Our MC is able to step out from behind the DJ console and walk out to the middle of the room for introductions, conduct the cake cutting from the cake area, or teach the latest line dance on the dance floor. These are some of the advantages to having a 2-person DJ/MC team that can take your party to the next level.

Which is best?

Do you want a chill event or high energy? If you'd like a traditional performance from the DJ and an MC that remains behind the console with minimal guest interaction, then a 1-person DJ/MC would be the best fit. If you want the MC to be out on the dance floor and involved with the guests, producing a high level of energy throughout the room, the 2-person DJ/MC team is a better option.
