Frequently Asked Officiant Questions & Policies

What is the officiant fee? 

Our fee is $300. This includes 1 sit-down meeting before the wedding, a fully customizable ceremony, and travel to your location. Weekday rates and military discounts are available. Please contact us for more details.

When is the officiant fee due? 

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of the first meeting.The remaining balance must be paid prior to the start of the rehearsal ceremony. We accept cash, check or credit card.

Your place or mine? 

Wedding ceremonies can be performed in my home or yours, halls, backyards, parks, beaches, etc. Be sure to check with your local Parks & Recreation Department about any necessary permits. 

What happens to the fee if the wedding is canceled? 

Our deposit is non-refundable, but fully transferable for up to one year. Any payment over the amount of the deposit will be refunded within 7-14 business days. No refunds will be available for weddings canceled within seven (7) days of the wedding date.

What do I need to bring to the wedding? 

Assuming the fee has been paid in advance, all you need to bring to the wedding is the marriage license (and maybe some friends or family to take pictures!). 

How long does the ceremony take? 

This can vary widely depending upon how much personal input the parties choose. A simple ceremony should be completed in about 7-10 minutes.

How do I obtain my marriage certificate after the wedding? 

Go to your local city or town hall a few days after the wedding to pick up a certified copy.

Please be prompt! Remember weddings are usually on weekends and holidays. We may have several weddings scheduled for a particular day. Your wedding ceremony should begin within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. 

Please telephone me to confirm plans 3-5 days prior to the wedding. As you well know, anything can happen to your plans or mine and a final confirmation can go far in relieving anxiety.

We do work with associates in performing marriage ceremonies. Therefore, if we are unable to perform a wedding due to a scheduling conflict, it may be possible to refer you to another duly authorized individual to officiate at your wedding. Please indicate on the booking form whether you wish that we personally perform the ceremony or if you would like to be referred to an associate, if we are unable to accommodate your plans.

Craig has immersed himself in the entertainment industry since 1981, spinning plastic records on his Fisher Price record player at the age of 3.

In 2013, he became a Justice of the Peace for the State of Connecticut, combining wedding officiant and DJ services to make weddings more personable and budget-friendly.
